The arrival of your new baby is drawing near, and the time has come…you must choose a baby name! Knowing the sex of your child before it is born helps, but choosing a name for both a girl or a boy (or for any combination thereof if a multiple birth) isn't much harder. In fact, it can be one of the more fun aspects of getting ready for your new arrival.

Baby names can come from many sources. Of course, you'll have myriad of suggestions from well-meaning relatives and friends, and some may even be worth considering. You may be considering names that you've liked for a long time, or you might be thinking of the possibility of naming your child after yourself, your child's other parent, or another close relative. Sometimes it's the endless number of choices that can make choosing a baby name seem like a daunting task!

Relax. You'll find the right baby name. Some parents even wait until they see their baby for the first time before they make their final choice. Be sure to use all the resources that are available to you if you're still looking for just the right baby name, such as books on what to name the baby, the Internet, and yes, even those well-meaning friends and relatives. You'll know when you've found the right baby name; it will be the one that makes you smile and say “that's it!” The best part will be when you look into your baby's face for the first time, call him or her by the name you have chosen, and realize what a miracle birth is.
